Rich People Un-friending America

Let's say for the sake of argument that you have a group of friends you have hung out with since high school. You got into a good college, made career choices that scored you some big money. Let's say that some of your friends didn't get so lucky. You go out to eat and they conveniently forgot their wallet. They talk about you behind your back to your other friends about how greedy you are and how you must have done some despicable things to get to where you are. They invite you to every family function expecting that you will bring an expensive bottle of wine or an awesome birthday card complete with tickets to their favorite sports team. The more money you make the worse it gets. They start planning guy's/girls night out at even more expensive places and order that $20 a shot whiskey and then once again realize that they forgot their credit card at home. After a few years of this don't you think you would stop accepting invites? Wouldn't you un-friend that person? Of course you would. Only an idiot would keep paying the tab of a lazy leech who only wants a free lunch from you. But alas, we expect the rich people to deal with that kind of treatment from the government. These guys work hard for their money-70% of the wealthy American's in this country are self-made (as in they aren't trust fund babies) so I think it makes sens that these people want to ditch the country that keeps wanting to take more and more of their hard earned cash.
Here we often are told that we need to be understanding of the root cause that lead to a man stabbing his neighbor to death but we aren't supposed to look at why the wealthy might want to hop on a plane and live in Singapore. In this country we reward laziness by handing them a food card, free health care, unemployment benefits and then turn around and want to slap taxes on anyone who dares to be really successful. Who is left with the bill? The hard working middle class dude who spends his nights sitting at the kitchen table balancing his budget, making sure he has enough in his savings account to cover emergencies and hopefully pay for some of his kids college tuition. It is really lame that there are people who are basically paid to sit around and do nothing to contribute to the well-being of our society and economy. There are people out there who actually take the time to calculate how much they can work before they would lose their so called benefits and then make sure they do not earn a dime more. They recognize that it would cost them more money to earn more because they would have to pay for their own food, health insurance etc. so it isn't worth it to them. On the one hand those people irritate me, but on the other I realize that they aren't to blame. It is human nature to get as much as you can with little effort, to take what is offered to you instead of killing yourself only to be punish for success. It is the governments fault for creating a system that punishes success and rewards lethargy. The government has created a generation of people who think that fairness means everyone gets everything they want when they want it without having to pay for it. Hello! Fairness means that when you work hard you are rewarded...but guess what? Life is not fair. You may work hard and still lose. You may see the jerk make a fortune. You may not get the girl. But you will never know if you never try.
Anyway, this guy who is involved in the facebook thing...if he wants to leave, that is fine. Who cares what he does? The government is just pissed that one of its meal tickets is leaving before they can sink their teeth into his bank account.
