Occupy What?

With May Day behind us we are left with what? Change? Motivation to better ourselves and our communities? No, we are left with jail cells littered with occupiers and streets littered with trash. While I understand the little guy's frustration with the economic situation and I do concede that there are rich selfish jerks on Wall Street I must also point out that some rich folk got those riches by working hard, a concept that I fear is lost on today's younger generation. In order to get cash for a nice house, car, clothes and that vacation in Spain one has to work. Some people do get lucky by playing the lottery while others do it the old fashion way and go to work 5 days a week.
My problem with the Occupy Movement is that it fosters this hate for the wealthy. Like I said before, sure there are rich douche bags out there, but to lump everyone with assets and cash into one big group of selfish jerks is not fair. Some of those 1%ers are hard working Americans who have put in overtime, made sacrifices and took risk in order to better themselves. Sometimes they were motivated to better themselves for their own sake, sometimes they did it to make a parent proud or simply to provide a life for their children free of trips to the second hand store for school clothes or a childhood with crooked teeth. Money does not always equal evil people. Also about those 1%. They provide jobs for the middle class. Take that hotel chain, Marriott. How many people get to put food on their table, clothes on the backs of their children because of the 1% who run the company? Tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands. They provide decent benefits too from what I hear. They also provide a damn good service to people traveling whether it be for business or pleasure.
Anyway, perhaps those Occupy people should try occupying a real job, earning a paycheck, paying their own bills and taxes instead of whining about how others have what they do not. Maybe, just maybe, if they put the same amount of effort that they give to the occupy movement, into earning money for themselves, maybe that 1% would grow and become 2%, 3% or hell maybe even 5%.Just sayin'.
